We have found that many people have old and negelcted apple trees in their gardens. We can come and prune them and they will be productive for another decade or so, depending on age. We advise however with trees at very old age to consider planting some young trees as well - in order to assure a continuous supply of your own freshly grown fruit. With all the stories about peak oil and global warming, we don't know how long we will be able still to rely on apples from New Zealand and Argentina in late winter. We recommend everyone with the space in the garden to plant a couple of new apple and other fruit trees to be sure of your own locally grown fresh fruit in the future!
